JAAN
TAYLOR
Jaan Taylor was born on November 7, 1986 to Terri Taylor, a personal chef, in Covington, Louisiana, a small town outside of New Orleans, where she resided, collectively, for approximately 2 years. She was raised in Albany, Georgia by her grandparents, the late Jane Austin Taylor, a mortician, and Barry Taylor, a retired commercial airline captain. Jaan's spotlight started in high school where she still holds many of the school’s women's track and field records as well as many region and state titles.
During these years, she also ventured into Georgia's Miss Teen America preliminary pageants, where she exhibitied exceptional talent in singing. Jaan loves trying new things which resulted in many different endeavors during her younger years, making her very well rounded. It was during her college career, as a student athlete at Clayton State University, that Jaan discovered her passion for acting which lead her to minor in Theater. She continued to nurture her craft through classes at a local studio and private coaching because “it's imperative to stay educated and skilled in your craft,” Jaan says. Jaan has worked on The Vampire Diaries, Containment, and is currently working as a voice-over talent on two animation projects.
From, one of her favorite roles as, a late 19 century African American woman migrating to the west in the stage play “Flyin' West” by Pearl Cleage, to the mildly Southern and assertive voice of “Queen Ant” in Nubbin & Friends, Jaan's range is continuously displayed.
